Programs

Dental Assistants are key members of the dental team. Dentists rely upon their assistants to perform a wide range of patient, clinical and laboratory procedures including X-rays, dental impressions, coronal polishing, and oral measurements.  Dental Assistant students will practice these procedures in a spacious and modern dental laboratory and use equipment, materials, and instruments comparable to those used in actual dental facilities.

The program prepares students for Coronal Polish Certification*, Pit and Fissure Certification* and the requirements necessary to earn a California Radiation Safety Certificate (limited to dental X-ray).  Student coursework emphasis is placed on the Registered Dental Assistant practical and written examinations.

Graduates of the Dental Assisting program work in many areas of dentistry, such as oral surgery, aesthetic dentistry, pediatrics, and orthodontics, in places like public health facilities, hospital dental departments, correctional facilities, schools/universities, clinics, and dental suppliers.
