Programs

70% of the population requires eyewear, creating plenty of opportunity. The Optical Dispensing program will train you for many duties including dispensing optician, ophthalmic lab technician, contact lens fitter, eye doctor's assistant, manufacturer's representative, and more.

As a dispensing optician, you’ll recommend lenses, frames, and coatings, fit eyeglasses, and repair broken frames. As an ophthalmic lab technician, you’ll cut, edge, tint, and insert lenses into eyeglass frames. As a contact lens fitter, you’ll ensure proper lens fit, measuring eye shape and size.

Our program prepares you for the National Opticianry Exam and Contact Lens Registry Exam administered by the American Board of Opticianry and National Contact Lens Examiners (ABO/NCLE). With these credentials, you'll be poised for a great entry-level position, rapid advancement and the potential to someday manage your own store.
