How long does each program take?
Depending on the career you select, most programs take approximately eight to ten months to complete. Programs average about 20 hours of classes each week (just four hours a day), plus homework and other assignments.

How can I go to school if I have a job
or a child or both?

We know you can't put the rest of your life on hold while you're in school, so we offer day and evening classes. We'll help you work out a schedule that works for you, plus we offer child care referrals and all the moral support you need.

Is financial aid available?
Yes, for those who qualify, for most programs. Many of our students receive financial aid. Our Financial Aid Office can help you apply for the aid you need, plus help you fill out all the right forms. Verify availability by campus.

Do I need a high school diploma to get in?
Depending on the program that you are interested in entering. You must pass a nationally recognized ability-to-benefit test, administered here on campus if you don't have a High School Diploma or GED. Some programs do require a HS Diploma or GED.

Will I need to take classes like History or Geography?
No. Our programs are focused only on what you need to learn for your career. You will not need to take any classes that would be "requirements" at a traditional college.

Can I earn an AA degree at ACC?
No. While ACC is fully accredited, we are not a traditional two- or four-year college. But you will earn a certificate of completion that is recognized and valued by prospective employers.

Can I take classes at home or online?
No. American Career College does not offer any correspondence classes or online classes. All classes are held at our campuses.

What if I'm not sure which program is right for me?
Our admissions representative can help you figure out where your aptitude and talents lie and which career you'll excel in. Just ask!

What if I'm having trouble with a particular class?
Our teachers are dedicated to helping you succeed. If you're not understanding all the material or having trouble in a particular area, just let your teacher know. He or she will work with you to help you through the trouble spots! We also offer tutoring for basic English and math skills.
